The futile desperation to start a Third World War

In my high school days, we used to have an expression for people, who fail to achieve the anticipated outcome of their actions. We told them they’ve “dived rock”. An indication of hitting the rocky bottom of a shallow pond while aiming to dive for a swim. Like the idle run of a vehicular gearbox without movement, Ukraine’s latest strike on military airfields deep inside Russia has left western countries gazing into emptiness as Russia makes its strategic choices in the aftermath. The high expectation of an immediate and ferocious outcome seems to have ended in the idle gear formation. Needless to imagine how many western leaders may have thought that Russia would nuke Ukraine on Monday the 2nd of June 2025 and open the floodgates to a globally annihilating WWIII.
President Putin summoned his Security Council to brainstorm on the serious development and collectively, they made the wise choice to stay calm and not to play into the hands of the frustrated and desperate western leaders. Not knowing how to swallow their pride in the aftermath of their apparent catastrophic defeat in Ukraine after pouring in huge amounts and weapons, the West has only been left threatening sanctions and weapons delivery after shamefully backtracking from troop deployment. Diplomatically and militarily, Russia has been setting the pace.
In the name of peace-making, Donald Trump was re-indoctrinated overnight, to find ways of giving Ukraine and the collective West a face-saving way out of the impending crushing predicament. He made an about-face and suddenly became the savior of Russia fending off “many bad things” that could’ve happened to Russia. Those bad things now, turned out to be terrorist attacks involving the nuclear triad. Donald Trump’s thundering silence gave away his complicity in no time. His priority had been the rare earth deal and he was, thereafter, ready to be swayed wherever the wind blew.
Yet, none of these actions and replaceable losses on the part of Russia will change the dynamics of the battlefield. Russia weighed the options, saw through the game plan and chose to lick its wounds at the backyard quietly, but push on harder and more decisively, with the pressure exerted on the battlefield. Many, who thought the Third World War would begin on Monday the 2nd of June 2025 all “dived rock”. Russia will not allow any spectacular terrorist act to take away its apparent victory over Ukraine. As former President Medvedev said, retaliation is inevitable. Ukraine will take more severe punches at times and places of Russia’s choosing and on top of it all, Ukraine will lose the war.
Lindsey Graham along with the neocons and warmongers of the Biden bandwagon that he represents, have become more desperate in their frustrations. The only face-saving option they see is to trigger WWIII with the hope that they’d overwhelm Russia with the numerical superiority of their armory and manpower. After their first major miscalculation in provoking the proxy war, a Third World War may become their ultimate suicidal miscalculation. The combination of China’s and North Korean manpower and armory, are again, the unknown calculus that they seem to be failing to factor-in sufficiently. The war front will not be confined to Russia by any means.
To bring the entire chaos to end, the West will have no choice but to swallow the bitter pills of defeat and finally revise its collective foreign and defense policy as it relates to Russia while ushering in a brand-new world order without the USA as the policeman that arbitrarily guards its own rigged order. A forever war will bring all parties to the abyss with genocidal consequences.
The fate of all the irrational and extremely unreasonable warmongers of today in western countries, may be left to revolutionary changes when, one after the other, governments begin to change in various countries. The question may then arise, what would happen to over-joyous belligerent policymakers like Ursula von der Leyen, Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer, Boris Johnson, who is already lost in transit, the wannabe tough guy in Germany, Friedrich Merz, etc. Will they all face a rude awakening and understand the hard way that Black Rock, Wall Street, or Goldman Sachs can never be an alternative to reasonable and intelligent diplomacy? Time will tell. For now though, Russia is the only adult in the room.
